Data Center Solutions - Call PBM IT Solutions at (888) 233-6471All the supporting systems in a data center face heavy loads and must be properly maintained to continue operating satisfactorily. These systems include cooling, humidification, air handling, power distribution, backup power generation and much more. Power continues to lead as a concern for data center operations. Data centers are designed to a specific power density - watts per square foot - with a typical cabinet of equipment occupying 14 sq. ft. of space. Develop a dashboard of data center energy-efficient metrics that provide appropriate data to different levels of IT and financial management. In-house data centers can be a business weak link if proper attention isn’t paid to power use, cooling capacity, disaster recovery preparedness, running IT to support compliance initiatives, and staffing flexibility to support utility computing initiatives. Server virtualization is the masking of server resources (including the number and identity of individual physical servers, processors, and operating systems) from server users. The intention is to spare the user from having to understand and manage complicated details of server resources while increasing resource sharing and utilization and maintaining the capacity to expand later. Desktop virtualization enables a centralized server to deliver and manage individualized desktops remotely. This gives users a full client experience, but lets IT staff provision, manage, upgrade and patch them virtually, instead of physically. There are many ways that users can corrupt or lose information, including inadvertent file deletion, inadvertent file overwrites, new software installs, lost or stolen computers, hardware failures, virus or hacker attacks and natural disasters. Some functions in the Cisco Unified Computing System are similar to those offered by the Cisco Nexus 1000V Series Switches, but with a different set of applications and design scenarios. The Cisco Unified Computing System offers the capability to present adapters to physical and (in the near future) virtual machines directly. When presented to the virtual machines, VN-Link technology can provide many of the same benefits as those described for the Cisco Nexus 1000V Series. Green IT facilities offer employees a healthy, comfortable work environment. In addition, green facilities enhance relations with local communities. Data storage systems are used in a variety of businesses for the purpose of storing and maintaining data which is critical to the operation of the businesses and their customers. It is very important that such data storage systems be highlyreliable to minimize or eliminate the chance of losing data if the system fails. The most secure and reliable systems employ total redundancy, in which every component of the system is replicated, such that, upon a failure of a component, anothercomponent takes over operation, so that the data storage system can remain fully functional. For example, two storage processors may be provided in a system such that if one fails, the other assumes the operation of the failed processor as well asmaintaining its own. However, total redundancy is expensive and can be an inefficient use of system resources. The Cisco Nexus 1000V allows policy to move with a virtual machine during live migration ensuring persistent network, security, and storage compliance resulting in improved business continuance, performance management, and security compliance. |
