Q. Do all companies manage their own equipment in a data center? A. In a data center, servers, storage and network devices must be properly maintained and upgraded. One of the primary reasons organisations do not perform frequent backups is that traditional storage management software runs over the network and can negatively impact network performance. A storage management solution that minimises network loading enables companies to perform backups as needed during the day. With the Cisco UCS 82598KR-CI adapters, a maximum of two adapters are presented to the VMware ESX hypervisor running on the blade. This interface count does not support a fabric failover, and the service console must be migrated to the Cisco Nexus 1000V Series Switch along with all these other adapter types if any high-availability requirement exists.
